Encompassed with beautiful lakes all around, the top lake for which Jammu & Kashmir is actually known for, is the Dal Lake. Quite literally the ‘Crown Jewel’, the lake is the 2nd largest lake of J & K with beautiful Mughal Era Gardens on its shores and views of snow-covered mountains in the backgrounds, enhancing the glamor of the lake.

The ’Nageena aka The Gem’ of Kashmir that is the Nigeen Lake is a must visit attraction and why wouldn’t it be after all it lies on the foothills of Zabarwan, have Hari Parbat in the west and Shankaracharya Hills on the south offering views on views worthy scenery. Either on a romantic date or a relaxing family time, this lake is just perfect.

One of the largest freshwater lakes in whole of Asia, based near Srinagar, this lake is not only a famous spot among the locals but tourists as well. The Wular Lake is also a spot for birdwatchers as many migratory birds have a stopover here. Other than that, this peaceful and charming lake is also a hub for fishing and other water-based activities.
